ACTION NEEDED: Proposed Tariff Increases

The United States Trade Representative (USTR) is currently accepting comments on the announced tariff increase across lists 1, 2 and 3. HIDA Government Affairs has drafted a comment letter you can send the USTR urging them to reconsider the inclusion of healthcare products under the Section 301 tariffs.

On Friday, August 23, the USTR announced in a press release that they would be increasing tariffs by 5% across all four lists equal to approximately $550 billion worth of Chinese imports. The move follows an earlier announcement from China saying they will further raise tariffs on imported U.S. goods. The increase is expected to be put in place on October 15th. Tell USTR you oppose the inclusion of healthcare products across all lists. 

It is urgent that you take action no later than Friday, September 20, 2019 and submit comments addressing the industry’s concerns with the proposed tariffs.
