Throughout the pandemic, HIDA has educated policymakers and the public about distributors’ capabilities, engaging in a public affairs campaign to raise awareness among policymakers and the public about distributors’ vital role in pandemic response. HIDA ensured that federal agencies consider distributors’ perspectives and expertise when creating their response to COVID-19. HIDA worked with industry allies to respond to new state initiatives that impact distributors’ role in stockpile management and distribution.
