Medical Products Manufacturing Expands Throughout The U.S.

HIDA map highlights increase in U.S. manufacturing facilities

Alexandria, VA – November 4, 2021
- Medical products manufacturers are answering the call for more U.S.-made medical supplies, with new manufacturing in 15 states since the pandemic began. The Health Industry Distributors Association’s new interactive map highlights companies making healthcare products in the United States.

Twenty-six companies have provided information for the map so far. They have collectively created nearly 14,000 jobs thanks to new or expanded facilities built during the pandemic or through already established pre-pandemic operations.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for diversity in sources for pandemic medical supplies including building domestic manufacturing in the U.S.,” said HIDA President & CEO Matthew J. Rowan. “Medical products manufacturers are offering solutions as part of the nation’s pandemic response.”
